Loose Powder VS Pellets

Some folks on another forum were wondering how Loose Pyrodex RS compared to Pyrodex Pellets as far as velocity goes.
I did the testing with my CVA Optima, Winchester W209 primers and both 100 and 150gr loads of loose Pyrodex RS and Pyrodex Pellets. The projectiles were the 250gr Powerbelt Aerolites.
100gr Loose Pyrodex RS 1,743 FPS
100gr Pellets Pyrodex 1,778 FPS
150gr Loose Pyrodex RS 2,041 FPS
150gr Pellets Pyrodex 2,092 FPS
