Seems to be a good place for sharing Cast'n Booolatsss methods....

MY main question is about mold releasing..... what is your favorite mold release compound/substance??

Is there anything else that makes cast'n Boooolatsss EZ'r and what equipment works best for you????

What is your cast'n media and where do you obtain it????

Mold release? I just smoke the mold when it's new and don't use anything after that. My medium is lead from the junk yard. If it's soft enough to score with my thumbnail, it's good enough for me. I started with a Lyman cast iron melting pot over the gas cook stove in my cabin and a couple of the Dixie molds they made from hair straightener tongs, on to Lyman molds and Lee molds. I like the iron molds best. Just have good ventilation (cabin door & windows open).
