I remember reading the ads for it, but it seemed like a pretty spendy item at the time.

Never heard of it before and think it's weird - but then I'm weird too. My question is about whether or not it's H/C and/or documented as being used by our ancestors. 
I question if it is even needed by most shooters not to mention the price. In general I place it in the category of of "something for the shooter who has everything". Well, not everything, I don't count puppies, bathroom tile, gold doubloons and such; but you get my drift.
