Picked up an original 20ga recently and they only had one pic. It was a risk, but I just hope I can shoot it! I'd really love a 20ga smoothie to hunt elk with. So useful having a smoothie!

The last deer I killed was a running shot with my 20 ga flint smoothbore.  The deer appeared to jump straight up and fall straight down in its own foot prints.  The load was a .600" patched ball at around 1300 fps.  The first thought that came to me immediately after the shot was, "WOW!  Thor's hammer"!  Yours will make a nice elk gun.

a nice half stocked fowler. with a new nipple, so some one was apparently shooting it? and a nice snail drum bolster! toot.

Is the hammer cracked? Looks like a little welding may be in order. We'll need pictures once you've completed it!

a little MIG or TIG weld will cure that. & a hammer screw it not a problem either! all minor. all is good.
