There is a book series by William W Johnstone called the "Preacher: the first mountainman" and another series called "Smoke Jensen: the last mountainman". These are fictional stories, but very well written. William W Johnstone also wrote other fiction books about a certain corrupt party back in the 80's and by God he actually forsaw the future, because what he wrote about is actually what is going on this very day!! At one time the corrupt FBI actually tried to have him stop writing and tried to have his books banned...

I have several of his books and I remember the FBI involvement way back when.

I let my wife read the first book in the "Ashes" series, next thing I know she is reading everyone of them in order.
