Actual HEAT is very rare in Maine. This summer has been mostly cool days, sometimes chilly, and RAIN!
We've had rain almost every day since June 1st. Mostly it has been overcast sky with drizzling rain, depressing and it makes everything sticky. But we've had our thunderstorms, flash floods, overflowing rivers, blocked and washed out roads. I'm actually use to hunting in the heat since I'm a Georgia native. I've killed on hot, late November days. I don't like rain and have had a belly full of it, enough to last me a lifetime. I stopped hunting 7 years ago so don't wait for the seasons. Health problems make it too risky for me to go trotting through the woods. Plus I have no desire to kill anything. But I have memories of squirrel and deer seasons in Georgia. That'll have to do.

We may not have our health to participate in this glorious hunt adventure or the fishing to include ice fishing excursions, however we'll always remember the many times we enjoyed our adventures and the good comrades along the way. I can only hope and pray that the future generations will appreciate the same freedoms we enjoyed! I too struggle, but I will have my memories God willing for as long as I have left.

There is a song by Zager & Evans: 2525
This is basically what their future is due to their laziness! Not all, but most.
Kids don't play outside anymore, they're too busy on their cell phones playing games!
Like China came to bite America in the ass, this so-called technology will come back to do the same thing.

Yep, we all get to where we are less than we were in our youth. But those memories are always with us, and we can still keep that spit and vinegar we imagined, Ahem! that we once had.
