Nice score! You need to do something about that brass wedge, though. And from what I have read, the wedges should be inserted from the left side to be authentic.

Ah, Winter Hawk, you spoke of a wedge and that it should be inserted left to right - I gather this is with the rifle buttstock to chest and muzzle pointed straight ahead.  I only have one rifle that takes a wedge so I'll really need to remember "left to right".

But the question of a pinned longrifle still confuses me.  I rarely EVER remove a pinned barrel but over the decades I've done it a few times.  I insert (I think this is correct) the pins in the right side and pull them out the left side, etc.  I likely have done this before but deciding (permanently) "L- R and R- L" is weirdly hard to remember and must have something to do with "too easy"?  What can you tell me about the pins being installed in the proper order/direction?

Hanshi, I don't know how the pins are supposed to go in. I think it just depends on the maker of the firearm. I don't remember where I read the little tidbit on the wedges, maybe on the Track of the Wolf website? It was quite a few years ago, at any rate.

I hope you are doing well, I haven't seen anything from you in a while.

Unfortunately not so well. A few weeks ago I woke up with chest pains. My wife (I don't drive) took me to urgent care where they called an ambulance. I spent the next week in the hospital and was diagnosed with pericarditis - fluid around the heart and in the lungs. They tried to kill me but I survived the entire week much to their chagrin. Still can't breath well so some other way may be required to remove the fluid. Colchicine has helped but only some. Hmmm...perhaps needle work at the pulmonologist where I have an appointment in a week or two.

So I likely won't be around much until I see some considerable improvement. I mostly just sleep and have lost weight since then. I will still check in from time to time with you guys.

Tom, I'm sorry to see that you're not feeling well.
I pray that you get better very soon.
Take care my friend and very glad to hear from you again.

Thank you, Stan, my brother. The prayers and best wishes mean a lot to me. I do drop by here periodically and try to keep up with "the latest"; but computer time is exhausting. Just know I'm around. Health issues have greatly limited my time at the keyboard for quite a while but I still tend to do too much while not worrying about paying for it. Shocked
But I have too many friends here to let that bother me.

Well Tom, the prayers are always there for you to get and feel better.
If you ever just need to talk, you can PM me anytime. That's what friends are for, to help each other along the path.
