Is this a replica or an original?

Re: Cylinder for 1851 Colt .36 Cal
Its a very long story but bought a 1851 Colt off the internet from a person in another province here in Canada ,, I was told it was in fantastic shape ,, pictures looked good ,, & a little bit of a language barrier didnt help .
& since I had little to no knowledge I am sure I overpaid by a lot .. when received it was in fairly rough shape , the nipples are basically fussed into the cylinder , tried everything .. Ultra Sonic cleaner / heat / penetrating oil etc.. talked to a gun smith close by me & he has informed me that not until late Feb to early March before he can even look at it .
He suggested to just buy a new cylinder if possible for now . but had no leads on even where to look .

I would contact several manufactures that produce the replicas of the Colt 1851 and see what they say about a reproduced cylinder. Armi San Marco, CVA, Uberti, Piettausa.com, and even Colt manufacturing. Hopefully one of them can help you out.Ray Watts wrote:Its a very long story but bought a 1851 Colt off the internet from a person in another province here in Canada ,, I was told it was in fantastic shape ,, pictures looked good ,, & a little bit of a language barrier didnt help .

With the cylinders empty, heat the area up around the nipples very hot, let it cool, heat again, let it cool and soak it in penetrating oil for a couple weeks.
