What is needed to take pictures, what size memory cards, how big a photo resolution is needed? I know just enough to be in trouble and the damn thing won't work ...

With either trail camera, they use an sd memory card. You insert the card in to the camera. Some come with the SD memory card already. You set up the camera where you want and just follow the instructions for taking pics.
Your HP supposedly has a slot to read the SD card from the trial camera.
Sometime that slot will not work with WIN10.
So, you have to buy a SD card reader to fit a USB slot on your computer.
You take the SD card from the trail camera and insert it in to the adapter, then plug the adapter in to the USB slot on your computer. Then you should be able to see the pics and/or videos on the SD card.

I know this sounds complicated but it really isn't.
If you live close to Wally World, here is a link to what you would need.
Card reader at Walmart

1.) The bottom camera comes with (2)16GB SD memory cards.
You can go to Walmart and buy a single 32GB SD memory card for just a few bucks(no pun intended..LOL).

2.) I don't know if that top camera comes with a SD memory card, but it is also limited to a 32GB SD memory card.

Hi Buck,
The one with the larger viewer.
However, since you have a computer, you can remove the SD memory card, and view it larger on your computer.
You can then go with a much less expensive(cheaper) camera or one that is really, really on sale big time.
Although $89 & $99 isn't a bad price these days, that's for sure.
