Making Char cloth
At rendezvous, I was running extremely low on char cloth, so I took some of my 100% cotton clothpatching material, cut it into strips and then 1 1/2" squares. I place them into a sealed tin with a small hole punched in the top. Set it onto a bed of hot coals and when the smoke from the hole stopped coming out, it was ready! Takes a spark easily and the large piece of char cloth makes for easy fire starting.
