Man --- Time Flies ...
I just got a reminder that two years have passed since we finished our yard. That was an ordeal with making the wife happy ... In this development you have two years to have the front, sides and backyards completed. I liked it better when living on the farm and I could do what we wanted !@#$%

Buck, I don't know how you do it. If I lived in a development, I'd be in jail.

Re: Man --- Time Flies ...
In the past year I've had to abandon about any kind of yard work, walking around the block by myself and driving. Turned my DL in as I can't risk blacking out again like I did when I hit the light pole. That's part of what happened when I fell on my face in the street a couple months ago and ended up in the ER. I'm okay to use our electric leaf blower on the ramp and deck as well as the paved driveway. That's about it for me. I'm now going to a Parkinson's program of PT treatment 4 X per week for a month. The possibility of me having PD is still up in the air. If I do then it's early and "mild". Neuropathy is diagnosed already so....
And this weather since spring is something we've not seen for going on 6 years. Rain almost EVERY day even if it's sunny in the am or the pm, it's going to rain regardless. Even the little bit of snow we had turned to rain.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
Time flies like an arrow, but fruit flies like a banana. Peace, my brothers.

Tom, you take real good care. I don't know if I believe in miracles, but if there are any, I hope a really good one comes your way soon.

Thank you both for your encouraging thoughts. I think - and most people do agree - that my face can't look any....well, worse than the way it always has been. I do recall that I never had to wear a mask on Halloween to trick-or-treat or scare the other kids.
So, my brothers, may you stay safely away from and be done with the diseases and conditions associated with...AHEM!...becoming mature. I have a healthy heart despite it being broken twice in my callow youth.
My squeeze did have heart surgery to install a valve to cover a "HOLE" in her heart. It was discovered when she had a stroke last winter that the surgeon thought to be the cause. Relatives in both our families and both sides of mine had long lives with few exceptions. One of my uncles lived to be 104 and stayed active walking even after he became 100. My wish is for long lives and health for you both.

Dang Hanshi, I didn't know you were having such extreme medical issues! Hang in there, old friend. I would purely miss your posts, if nothing else. Wish I could help you but that is unobtainable!

Thank you, Winter Hawk, for your kind post. I'm currently doing an intensive, month-long, 4 days a week pt. that's actually aimed at Parkinson's sufferers. My diagnosis was tentative so if I DO have PD it ls early and mild. Severe neuropathy seems a better and more accurate diagnosis and is not in the least tentative.
How about your household, all good news I trust. So far what with both Buck's and Mustang65's health history I do feel like the lucky one. I hope you are especially lucky compared with the rest of us. I find it, well, very comforting that close friendships can develop even without face to face contact.
Me at my 40th birthday party.
Rough life, you understand.

Re: Man --- Time Flies ...
Actually I feel pretty fortunate as far as health goes.
Had several major surgeries that I survived.
Presently just had cataract removed and new lens in right eye. What an improvement!! Left eye to be done on 29th.
However, am still able to go hunting with the boys. Me and the oldest son just stocked the wood shed with approx. 3 cords of wood.
No problems walking or driving.
And still do chores in the house as far as remodeling and repairs(wife won't let me in the kitchen cooking though..LOL).
Rebuilding chicken runs and in process of building below ground green house.
Also have to put in an additional 220V line for welder in main shop.
At 75 I consider myself very fortunate. All I have to do is keep away from those damned surgeons. LOL!!!

I'm doing well; some aches & pains which keep me from doing what I used to but it doesn't do to complain, and no one would listen anyway! I try to get out and walk a couple of miles every day; that's supposed to be good exercise. Seeing some of the other folks our age who are in real bad shape I can only be thankful, and try to help those less fortunate than I.

I have several sessions with my therapist and can already see much improvement in my walking and other activities. i took a few minutes and taught her a few s-d killing techniques. She was very receptive to the s-d.
