Leman tiger stripes
I’ve seen several artificially striped guns in the fashion of Leman. I know these stripes are painted on or drawn on with ink or leather dye.
I think I’d like to try that with my CVA Mtn. Rifle. It’s a very plain piece of wood and I like the looks of the Leman tiger stripes.
My question to you gents more knowledgeable than myself is, once the old finish is removed, what is used to seal the wood, prior to striping ?
After striping, a coat of stain is applied then a finish coat, correct ?

I’ve considered burning a fake curl using wire wrapped around the stock and a torch. I recently did a hawk handle that way.

Jonathan has done some really beautiful stocks and guns.
He built one for me for Christmas one year and I hate to hunt with it cuz it is so damned purtty!!
For his brother, he took his brother's .270 and camoed that rifle, stock, barrel, trigger assy, and scope!!
If you lay that rifle down in the woods, you have to know where it is, it blends in that well.

You know, that's really funny, the one thing everyone notices and comments is about the fly !
You have to know the truth, he trained that fly and it shoots at event's now!

More trivia you probably don't want or need to know:
Years ago, in the Schiphol airport (Amsterdam, the Netherlands) they started etching a fly in the commodes. Men aim at the fly with the result that there is much less urine on the floor....
